Photo album: CAA 2023 book fair booth

Written by WAJ in Events on March 1, 2023

The whole WAJ editorial team staffed the booth, alongside our intrepid publisher

Below, L-R: Aliza Edelman, Co-editor-in-chief; Alison Poe, Book Reviews Editor; Guy Griffiths, President, Old City Publishing; and Joan Marter, Co-editor-in-chief

We toasted the memory of Ian Mellanby, co-owner and co-president of Old City Publishing, who passed away unexpectedly last fall
Alison and Aliza posed behind some of our recent issues

A few of our 100+ fabulous visitors:

Mona Hadler and Joan celebrated the publication of their major new books
WAJ board member Claudia Calirman’s new book made the cover of the Duke U Press SS23 catalogue
Ellen K. Levy visited the booth
Monike Fabijanska visited us, too
Basia Sliwinska made Alison laugh
Delaram Hosseinioun signed our log

WAJ hosted the book launch for Mona Hadler and Kalliopi Minioudaki, eds., Pop Art and Beyond: Gender, Race, and Class in the Global Sixties (Bloomsbury, 2022)

Pop Art and Beyond co-editor Kalliopi Minioudaki (far left) posed with some of the many well-wishers at the launch

At the end of the fair, the Flyover Zone booth gifted us their 3D-printed Farnese Hercules

We presented the figurine to Marice Rose, who gave a paper on the Farnese Hercules back at CAA 2019
